2 Field Place is historic house in Paganhill, and presents an exhibition of contemporary painting, ceramics and fine art printmaking by the artists collective PaintPrintClay - Maggie Howe, Elizabeth Lee, Mandy Scott.
Visitors will be able to enjoy delicious cream teas served in the garden (weather permitting).
On show will be examples of sculptural and functional ceramics alongside contemporary paintings in oil and fine art printmaking including monoprints and etchings - from intimate still life and domestic scenes to diverse abstract works in 2d and 3d.
The exhibition theme explores the artists’ experience of contemporary social and environmental change, and the never-ending cycle of change in the personal world of family and home, and how these changes affect their own creativity. Their work is founded in observation from life – recorded in drawings, journals, photographs and through continuous dialogue with teachers and other artists.
Elizabeth Lee
This exhibition showcases the artists' technical skills and creative vision and also highlights the joy found in the artistic process itself. During the exhibition the artists are happy to discuss and share examples of work in progress – and artistic diversions where fun and creativity can be found developing work from unexpected opportunities.
The artworks and the venue create a synergistic effect – the contemporary artworks compliment the historic domestic setting – the aim is to inspire and surprise, and to offer visitors a welcoming and comfortable place to consider the work on show.
