Showcasing artwork created by some of the South West’s freshest creative talents. Join us to explore a wide variety of visual work produced by our students throughout the academic year.
Free entry.
For the annual show, the students transform the art studios and workshops into a gallery to exhibit their final pieces of coursework, showing the incredible talent, passion and dedication to their craft. The exhibition incorporates a range of media including ceramics, painting, photography through to digital work and animation, with each individual curation, immersing the viewer in elaborate concepts and ideas.
Stroud School of Art has had a diverse and interesting history; starting out in 1860 offering a few small classes in a former pub on Kendrick Street, to moving to Lansdown and becoming The Stroud School of Science and Art. In 1990 the Art School, along with its courses and tutors was acquired by Stroud College, now named SGS College, becoming an integral and hugely successful part of the curriculum on offer to learners of all ages.
Recognised as Outstanding by Ofsted, SGS College is now the largest provider of vocational Art in the South West and is renowned for offering exceptional and inspiring courses in a range of areas within the art sector.
The exhibition is also a fantastic opportunity for visitors to get an insight into the inspiring and varied Art & Design courses on offer across SGS College campuses which range from fine art, product design, textiles, ceramics and more, and are open to all ages and abilities from part time leisure courses to degree level options.
