Stroud’s highly addictive Mermaid Chunky host a curated night of experimental sounds and performance featuring special guest, Yama Warashi Emerging after ten years with Bristol stars Zun Zun Egui, Yoshino Shigihara is taking things into her own hands on new project Yama Warashi, telling stories of both the everyday and the supernatural with matching beauty. Her music has a dreamy evocative sound with a shadow of moon cake, inspired by Japanese folk dance music, Bon Odori(盆踊り), free jazz and African music with a slice of electric psychedelia. Yama Warashi (山童) means a small child-like spirit which lives in the mountains. Boss Morris plus more special guests to be announced.

YAMA WARASHI is our very special guest, bringing japanese folk, psych grooves and African beats, with madcap flights of fancy. This Bristol based art rock ensemble, fronted by artist Yoshino Shigihara, have been working with the likes of PJ Harvey, M.Ward and Perfume Genius on their new record 'Ali Chant' and are signed to yuppies music alongside the likes of Anchorsong.
