A warm welcome to Christmas Open Studios 2018

Artists are opening for a special Winter Open Studios weekend where you'll find contemporary hand-crafted unique presents for the upcoming festive season, on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th December.

Featuring a selection of Site Festival Open Studios artists across the district, visitors will be spoilt for choice by the variety of work for sale, with a collection of work that ranges from sculpture, paintings, textiles, prints, and many more.

Art and Music at SVA for Goodwill Evening
Friday 7th December 6pm onwards

Our open studios will be taking place on the same weekend as the Stroud Goodwill Evening so there will be a fantastic festive buzz in the town.

On the night of the Goodwill Evening we will also have the DIY Christmas Art Shop in the SVA Gallery from 6pm. Also at John Street we will have cool tunes to warm your true good self and awaken your Christmas soul, from 6pm, with the John St Social Goodwill Club.

The DIY Christmas Art Shop will also be open on Saturday 8th and 15th December, 10am-4pm.

Buy art directly from artists

Open Studios is a great way to meet artists, find out more about the ideas behind their work and the techniques they use. Don’t forget, you can buy art works directly from artists! SVA has been hosting Open Studios since 1997, starting out with a handful of artists and has now expanded into one of the best rurally based Open Studio events in the UK.

Artists Information

The Open Studios page gives information on the participating artists who are showing their work in various open studio locations for the weekend in December. Artists‘ studios may also be open at other times in the week: please ring artists directly to check individual opening times.

Disability Access

It is advisable to ring venues before you visit to check access. For the studios at SVA - All spaces i.e. studios, gallery, event, café and toilets have level access and are wheelchair accessible. The building has an accessible lift.

Parking for SVA

The nearest public parking is at Stroud Rail station (3 mins walk to John St ). For people with access requirements there is a designated disabled parking place outside John St.
