Open Studios 2018: Info for artists
Would you like to take part in Open Studios?
Stroud's Site Festival Open Studios will be held 5th - 6th and 12th - 13th May and will feature over 90 artists in 50 locations across the district. This will be our 22nd annual Open Studios event - we hope we can make this one even more enticing and exciting to hundreds of new and regular visitors.
How do I apply?
We produce a full colour Open Studios Directory which has an image of each artists work, contact details, short descriptive text and directions to studio.
This year we are asking all artists to submit their images and text when they register for Open Studios. You will need to read the Open Studios Guidelines to help you prepare the text and images in advance. You are then ready to register for Open Studios!
We have designed a new form to make it as simple as possible without the need to log in and use passwords. However you must be aware that the information that you submit will not be saved on your browser or computer so please make sure you keep this window open and active otherwise you will have to start again.

Open Studio Hubs
Over the last few years we have been promoting groups of artists who are opening thier studios together in one place as Open studio Hubs. We hope that Open Studios 2018 will be as exciting with lots more artistic collaborations and a greater focus on Open Studio hubs in the area.
If you are working in a group studio and would like to talk to us about being an Open Studios Hub then email Briony@sva.org.uk
Haven't got a studio to open?
Let us know if you are having trouble finding a studio as we might be able to help. We are working with lots of different artists and partner organisations and there maybe a space for you in a mill building, empty shop or another artist's studio.
You can register for Open Studios 2018 and insert 'TBA' in the address section. Let us know if you need help - email Briony@sva.org.uk
Christmas Open Studios
If you sign up to Open Studios in May then you will also be offered the opportunity to be publicised as part of the Christmas Open Studios event on 1st - 2nd December 2018. This is now a regular feature of Site Festival's Open Studios and is a golden opportunity to sell work during the Christmas period.
Deadline: Monday 14th January.
Please allow plenty of time to prepare your text and images to meet this deadline. Please let us know if you have any difficulties meeting signing up or meeting this deadline and we can try and help - ring SVA on 01453 715440 or email Briony@sva.org.uk

Are you planning to open a group studio?
Lots of artists choose to show their work together in a group Open Studio in one location which can attract more visitors. If you would like to do this all the participating artists will still need to register as individuals and each pay the Open Studios fee. Each artist will get an individual image, descriptive text, contact details etc. in the printed and online Open Studios directory and on our artists membership pages.
If there are more than two artists taking part in a group Open Studio this will be promoted as an Open Studio Hub with an image of the venue in the directory.
