Sophie is using the residency space at John Street Gallery again to explore how her often introverted practice can expand into a public context. She intends to make prints, drawings and text-based work and experiment with new modes of display that can invite interaction and contemplation.
Sophie’s work:
Sophie's practice lands somewhere in the intersections of writing and image-making. She is interested in intimacy and landscape and dreams. She contemplates how feelings in the body connect with emotional and external realities. Working intuitively between visual and verbal modes allows her to document and decipher these sensations and interactions that involve visual, verbal and embodied cognition.
