The Thursday Group is eight local artists who meet together each week at the Victoria Works Studios to develop their individual practices, and support, learn and create work collectively. Within the group are a diverse range of artistic skills and practices. Some paint in oils, watercolours and mixed media, others explore the potential of printing in both lino and drypoint.
In addition to the 2D work, several members of the group also work in Ceramic sculpture, textile and mixed media 3d constructions. Guest tutors are invited by the group to inspire, teach and challenge and earlier this year Sue Rae (Suejrae.co.uk) led the group as they explored integrating collage into their practices.
